I ran out of Oil. I got my oil tank refilled but not it won't start.
Running out of oil is a bad thing to happen, what most likely happened is all the sludge at the bottom of the tank got sucked through into the oil lines. This will require a lot of oil bleeding to get the lines cleared up. If you are aware how to bleed your oil furnace go ahead, but know it may take SEVERAL attempts to get it working again. In the future never let the tank get below a quarter of a tank, get on a keep-fill program with the oil supplier, or look at switching to an LP or Natural Gas furnace which doesn't have this type of problem down the road.
Have your Oil Furnace maintained YEARLY. Oil Furnaces get dirty quickly, and need routine maintenance. Please take care of your Oil Furnace.
