Air Exchangers are a great way to keep your home with fresh outdoor air in all seasons. There are a few ways to go at exchanging air. In most new construction, builders are putting in a fresh air intake that will allow fresh air in under a negative pressure. One step up would be having a Air-to-Air Exchanger that keeps a neutral amount of air exchange. It will exhaust air out and pull fresh air in. Air-to-Air Exchangers are available in two options, as a Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV). The difference? The Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) will heat the incoming air from outside (if needed).
