Bonnie said: Technician found sircuit board not working. Asked how much a new one would cost, he said 890.00. Asked if he could find the problem and he did. Said he needed a soldering iron to fix it and didn’t have one along. I supplied a soldering gun, then he needed an extension cord. Never saw him put meters on anything as other Techs have. Asked if he cleaned the burners and said he did when I went to get the soldering gun. Then charged 40.00 for Labor over the Select Group charges. I understand the extra work of repairing the board but thought that should be included with the cleaning, and check up of the furnace. Other Technicians always had a vacuum, and all the tools needed. Am glad he fixed the problem but a little unhappy with the service this time!
Company Response: We are going to have another technician come out and do the complete tune-up over again. The added $40 labor cost is accurate any time we are repairing things (that is not part of a tune-up, but you don't have to pay the $95 trip charge that is associated with a service call so it's a big money saver to repair at time of a tune-up). We will be addressing this internally as our tune-ups have been and need to stay consistent with every single technician on our team. It shouldn't matter who comes to your home, we have a list of things that we do on our tune-ups. There is no deviation from that list.

Bill said: I am surprised that I have had two service calls on a furnace that is only a year old. Both after the initial inspection. That being said, Everyone was very helpful. Eric quickly diagnosed the problem and resolved the issue. He explained the issue well.

The good news is these issues are largely minor and while they are a nuisance, you can rest assured that in the long term the equipment is reliable.

It looks like the two issues were for a stretched power cable for inducer motor that didn't allow for a strong connection, and a reversed hose clamp. If anything else comes up we'll be ready to help you!
